Yes, I think to attempt to try and gain the first page of Google for such a wide-ranging term would be very difficult initially. I think it would be much easier if you could choose a smaller area that you really feel you know backwards and that is perhaps a “big-ticket” sale so that if you start to get bookings from the site eventually they are really worthwhile, if you know what I mean.

The new article I’m posting in a moment will explain a little further about how to decide on what “area” of expertise you should choose.

Remember, your going to make your website THE authority website on your chosen area so you need to feel that, a) you have a deep knowledge of the area/resort/hotel chain, etc and b) that you will have the enthusiasm to keep it going. Som it needs to be something that will keep you interested to.

Yes you can do that if you want to. What you’ll do is make “backlinks” in each post that you make back to your main website in order to help that site rise up in the search engines. You can see that that’s what I’ve done with the Nile Cruise site.
